This includes extensive commercial experience in customer facing roles, in particular as a Product Manager with Bayer and Chiron diagnostics.
Dr Frank Roberts, Non-Executive Chairman - brings over 20 years of management and leadership experience from the bioprocess and bioscience industries to the Board. Currently working in business development for Millipore, Frank established and managed biotechnology company, Bioprocessing Limited, growing it from start-up pre-revenue stage through to profitability and to its ultimate sale to Millipore for $20M in 1999.
Prof Jeremy Lakey, Scientific Director - leads Orla’s scientific strategy and focuses on research and development both to feed and develop Orla’s overall business strategy and in response to specific customer requirements. Professor of Structural Biochemistry, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and a former BBSRC Research Development Fellow, Jeremy led the development of Orla’s technology and continues his research activities thus providing advances in Orla’s products, processes and know-how. He is a world-renowned expert on proteins; this standing adds clear credibility to Orla’s technology and provides Orla with a new technology stream from his outstanding research.
Barrie Hensby, Non Executive Director - is the chief executive of NEL Fund Managers Ltd, a Venture Capital company based in the North East of England, with £70m under management. Barrie has over twenty years of experience as a company director in a wide variety of companies.
